Mind Express 5 and Windows Control
With Mind Express, you have a lot of possibilities for (in)direct communication, education and leisure. More info on the wide applicability of Mind Express can be found here on our website. Moreover, you can control all these applications not only via touch, but also via mouse, joystick, eye tracking, head tracking and/or switches.
Do you rely on an alternative access method such as eye control or switch control, but you still want to access all the possibilities of your Windows computer? In other words, do you want to step outside of Mind Express? Then you can use the ‘Windows Control’ functionalities of Mind Express. This way, you don’t need to be able to control a hardware keyboard or computer mouse. You can use a digital keyboard and mouse actions with your eyes and/or your switch(s) to browse and scroll your computer.
Windows Control via eye control: InControl
Import InControl for free into your Mind Express 5 to immediately experience how you can smoothly:
- start programs
- scroll in applications
- type and send text (with word and/or sentence prediction to increase your speed)
- and thus make all applications of your Windows computer accessible to you
The video below illustrates this. You can also learn, how you can customise InControl to suit your needs.

Windows Control via switch(s): Mouse Control
Import Mouse Control and KeyVit(mini) for free into your Mind Express 5 to immediately experience how, via switch control, you can:
- move your mouse using a method that is most convenient for you.
- make mouse selections
- type and send text (with word and/or sentence prediction to speed you up)
- use all the applications on your Windows computer.
The following slides give an overview of what’s possible in terms of Windows Control via Mind Express. From slide 21 onwards, you will find more information on Mouse Control and KeyVit mini. Again, personalisation is possible. For example, as an AAC user, you can choose the method and speed by which your mouse moves across the screen (4 directions, down right or radar).
