CloudStorage.exe error

When ME5 starts in Windows 11, you receive a “CloudStorage.exe” error at startup.  The error message shows a an icon of a red circle with a white cross, and the text says that it “can’t start the application (0x0000135)”.  You can press “OK” and ME5 will start, but the cloud feature won’t work.

 

This issue is caused by a Windows update (KB5013943) of May 10th, 2022.

To solve the issue, you can follow the guidelines provided by Microsoft in the link above, or you can download this batch file.

Unzip the file first, then right-click on it and choose to “Run as administrator”.  The fix will now be applied and takes a couple of minutes to complete.  Afterwards reboot the system.

The issue should be solved now.
